Phone Append for Call Centers
Phone append is the process of matching a list of people against a data source and adding their current phone numbers to each record. For a call center or BPO, it means sending the dial list out before the campaign, getting it back with current mobile and landline numbers, and loading that into the dialer instead of the numbers that stopped working.
It's also called telephone append, and it's the same match as a skip trace. The difference is mostly what you ask for back.
Why dial lists decay
A contact list is accurate on the day each record was captured. After that, people change carriers, drop landlines, port numbers and move. Nothing in a CRM or dialer flags which numbers stopped reaching the person, so the list looks the same while fewer calls connect.
You see it on the floor as agents waiting on dead numbers, campaigns that look reachable on paper, and lists getting rebought when the people on them are still there.
What a phone append returns
BatchIQ runs on credit-header data, the same data tier as the top five providers, not public directories. Five input fields are enough to match: name plus last-known address is the usual starting point, and adding a date of birth raises precision.
Each match returns every channel at once rather than phones alone:
- Up to 5 phone numbers, with a 98% cell-phone hit rate
- Up to 5 email addresses
- Current mailing address
On the full data option, each record also carries relatives with their own phones and emails, age, deceased verification, and bankruptcy, lien and judgment records, up to 270 rows of data in all.
If all you need is phone, email and mailing address for a marketing or customer list, BatchIQ Core returns just those three channels at single-digit cents per row. One trace re-verifies the whole list at over 95% accuracy for those three channels.
Phone append vs. buying a new list
A new list starts from zero: new names, no history with your company, no idea who will pick up. A phone append keeps the people you already have, the customers, leads and accounts you've already paid to acquire, and makes them reachable again. For a lot of campaigns the right list is the one you already own, with current numbers.
How it fits a call center's workflow
- Export the list from the dialer or CRM as CSV or XLSX. No cleanup or column mapping needed.
- Append. Up to 250,000 rows come back in five to seven minutes, by bulk upload or API.
- Load it back. Your original columns are untouched, with the appended phones, emails and addresses beside them.
Run it before a campaign launches, or on a schedule for lists your floor works continuously. Your file stays yours: BatchIQ never retains or resells uploaded files.
Current numbers and DNC are separate jobs
A current number isn't a number you're allowed to call. BatchIQ is a data provider, not a compliance product, and your consent records, calling windows and TCPA policies stay yours and stay with your counsel. To scrub numbers against Do Not Call lists, BatchIQ offers DNC scrubbing at a flat $199 a month, unlimited.
Is it the right fit?
BatchIQ is built for teams working 1,000 or more records a month. Below that, a per-lookup service will serve you better.
Pricing is per record and set on a short call. The industry standard for comparable data is about $0.20 a row, and users paying that could save $60,000 per million rows or more. More on how batch skip tracing is priced, or see pricing.
See it on your own list
On a data discovery call, we match about 20 of your rows live, free. Bring numbers your agents already know are dead, and see what comes back. Then we quote a per-record price at your volume.
